Language and region on Specific Sources

1. Language filter:

Once you've chosen and pasted the specific source you want, whether a Twitter Account, a Fanpage, a Youtube Channel, a Video or a RSS/Feed; you can select the specific language in which you want to capture comments. You can select one or more languages.

2. Language tag:

If, on the contrary, you want to capture all the conversation generated in the specific source without filtering language, then, disable the Language Filter from the drop down and assign a Language Tag. By assigning a language tag, the system will mark all comments from that source as comments made in that specific language, even if  comments were made in different languages.

What´s the difference between language filter and language tag?

No matter if it is a specific source or a search term, works equally for both.

Language filter automatically detect and only capture comments in the selected language.

By assigning a language tag, the system will look for and capture comments from a specific source or with a search term, without filtering language. So all comments found will be captured and marked with the language tag you've chosen.

e.g.: If you enter a search term like “phone” and assign a language tag to it, let´s say “english”, the system will capture all comments with the word “phone” in it regardless of the actual comment language. So you could capture comments in spanish with the word “phone”, or in any other language.

To assign a tag for a search term or a specific source, disable the Language Filter from the drop down.

On the contrary, if you want to filter by language, select one or more of the available languages in "Language filter".

Why assigning a region to specific sources and search terms?

Assigning a region will help you know the location of the people that commented about your brand and, therefore, answer questions like, where are people talking, how are they talking, and who is talking.

You can find those answers using filters in the Share of Voice chart. For example.
