What is this alert for?

To detect when a keyword it is mentioned in social networks, related with one or several configured brands in your platform.

 

How does it work?

When the system detect matching mentions, related with the selected brand and keywords for the alert,  the system will send an email with a sample of mentions containing the matching keywords.


Useful Syntax

from:@socialmetrix (author filter)

Will match only those opinions written by the specified user. Currently you can only use twitter user names with this filter.

Everything after “from:” will be consider as the name of the author until the next “from:”. For that reason you can’t use “from:” at the beginning of the search if you want also to filter by text.

followers:12345 (influencers filter)

Will match only those opinions where the number of followers of the publishing twitter profile is strictly greater than the number after the :  

@socialmetrix (mention filter)

Will match every opinion that includes “@socialmetrix” in the text or those opinions made by @socialmetrix (as “from:@socialmetrix” would).

This won’t return only twitter opinions because if, for example, a facebook post contains “@socialmetrix” on the text, that opinion will be matched.

This filter will always match text and author at the same time.

Many words from:@account

Search every opinion from a twitter account that said some of many words:

(social | event | popular) from:@socialmetrix

Retweets use case

Searching “RT @socialmetrix:” will match every Tweet that has “RT @socialmetrix:”.
Generally that implies retweets from @socialmetrix but, in some weird cases, could be a Tweet with the text “RT @socialmetrix:” in it (the index is not differentiating retweets from other Tweets, it is just matching the text).

Pitfalls

  • Will only search opinions that matched with the configured ontology. Non matching opinions will not be found by this tool.
  • Will not match partial words, will only match complete words (“socialme” will not match “socialmetrix”).


Is it necessary to have sentiment classification? 

No, the system will look for matches in all the platform mentions even if they are not yet classified with sentiment.

 

What is the verification interval?

The interval it is configured by the user. The system will only send an email alert when the full interval has past.

 

Who can receive the alert?

Multiple recipients can be configured.
